Mary Ellen works for Neutrogena as a Packaging Engineer. She works in packaging development. She develops packages for new products. She also improves existing products and tries to make them greener and cost effective. You would see her work if you ever shopped in the skin care aisle at the supermarket. Neutrogena manufactures and markets a line of premium products that provide real improvements in the health and beauty of skin and hair.
Mary Ellen went to Michigan State for college and got advice from the college counselor to go into Packaging Engineering. Her parents recommended engineering as a great career that paid well and had many career options. She took lots of math and science classes in college, as well as, packaging courses like shipping, machinery, and package design. The best part of her job is the variety of projects that she gets to work on. It is never boring. She learns something new every day and is always challenged. She solves defects in packaging problems and making packages greener (more environmental). |
