Kritika Lyer is a Junior majoring in Bioengineering at UCLA. She is the Outreach Director for the Society Of Women Engineers (SWE) at UCLA. She is taking Biomedical classes and works on several projects such as tissue engineering; modeling the skin and how it heals; and biomedical devices for surgery.
She wanted to become an Engineer because her parents recommended it. Kritika loves AP Bio and science. In high school, she took calculus, lots of math, and AP Bio. She loved figuring out AP Bio on her own - it is a very independent class. She wants to go into Cardiovascular area, because she wants to help others. Her brother had a heart condition and she wants to solve these types of problems. Knowing that you can make a device that can save someone's life is the reason she wants to be a Bioengineer. |
