Jessica Arden is the Deputy City Engineer for the City of Westlake. She has worked for the City of Santa Monica as a Water Resources Engineer and is a consultant to Willdan. She has a Professional Engineering License in Civil Engineering with the State of California. This is the highest engineering license you can achieve. Jessica is my Gold Award Project Advisor. She is an incredible role model for any girl thinking of going into Engineering.
Jessica went to Stevens institute of Technology in New Jersey and got a BS in Management/Technical Engineering. She took calculus, physics, material science, circuits, and robotic labs. Her Father was an Engineer and encouraged her to pursue engineering. Jessica believes that as an Engineer, you can be anything you want. Jessica manages construction projects and designs drinking water treatment plants. She manages and works with teams of engineers. The best part about her job is that she gets to work outside and see her projects being built and finished. Jessica likes the public works industry. Jessica ensures the City has water for firefighting and drinking. She solves problems with any water issues and sewer problems. She fixes any construction problem and deals with pipes and water mains. |
