Janet started out as a Civil Engineer and then worked in Production Engineering. She now handles all the Olympic and Sports Marketing for Proctor and Gamble (photo at Left is from Sochi 2014 Olympics in Russia). P&G manufacturers many products including personal care, household cleaning, laundry detergents, prescription drugs and disposable nappies.
Janet has a BS in Civil Engineering from UCLA. For her first 2 years, she took the basic engineering classes. The last 2 years, Janet took classes in structural analysis, hydrology, soils mechanics, fluid mechanics and more. Janet's high school teachers encouraged her to pursue engineering in college because she loved math and science. She interned with the Navy in a Civil Engineering Lab Program. At P&G, she started in manufacturing for Bounty and Charmin products. After 12 years in manufacturing, she transitioned to marketing on brands like Pantene, Olay, and Secret. Today, she leads the P&G Olympic marketing campaign and she travels all over the world to support Olympians and their families during the Olympics. She loves engineering because you get to problem solve and work in a team with others. |
